It was a scary looking thing that can apparently jump several feet. Take a look at the pictures, they are so cool! Here’s more info you like this kind of stuff: Rhaphidophoridae. Whenever I come across a weird bug I always think to post it at BugGuide.net like my post which has the full size images: Beetle / Grasshopper looking bug! Never seen one before!.
