Google Mail for Your Domain!
After deciding against installing Squirrel Mail since my hosting plan does not include UNIX access, I found an awesome alternative. After doing a little searching I found out about something Google provides, as usual, for free. It comes along with the Google Apps account.
Who wouldn’t want to use the Gmail interface for your domain’s email accounts? You can and you just have to confirm that you are the owner of the domain, change your MX records and you are ready to roll. There is even an option to add the login page and any of the Google App pages as a sub-domain of your website.
The Gmail part is all I care about. The other apps might be useful to a small business or entrepreneur but being able to use the Gmail software for your own domain is a premium situation for all. With the ability to have 100 free email accounts all of your friends or everyone in your community can each have an email.
And just a note. If you are a full time student or full time non-profit staff you can get a special account that has nearly all of the premium options. This includes non-profit K-12 schools, colleges and universities as well as US nonprofit organizations.

This is awesome. I’ve used this a while (or I’ve registered and created an account for me and a friend with my own domain) but not used it really. I’m still using my old gmail account since I feel there’s no need to change (messing with a new msn acc etc). However, it’s great when you want people to be able to contact you with stuff regarding your homepage, then you can use that email, that’s my opinion :)
